The Boy With The Incredible Brain

Most significant things to me in this program were that people have the ability and disability, and human brain can do the incredible things. Daniel has a really profound talent to number and language, which are that he feels numbers in emotion and creates concrete shape of number like landscape. As we know, he has a great talent for mathematic, so he can calculate something normal people can not calculate without the calculator. I think he has great skill to calculate and to learn language, but not only that, because when he uses his great skills, he needs his incredible concentration. I think his great concentration to do something is also one of his great talents.
Like this program said, ability and disability depend on the individual strong interest, so I think if we had that individual strong interest to something, we would have good ability to that. It means that it’s very important for us to know our strong interests, and I wish I would have good ability to learn English. (^^)

When kids get life

According to the program, The United States is one of the only countries in the world that allows children under 18 to be sentenced to life without parole. An attorney and author, When A Child Kills, Paul Mones said that American’s law for juveniles typically don’t care about the liberation of teenager’s and don’t care about giving teenager any hope so that those teenagers are damped.
Human Right International report that in 1992 U.S had 400 inmates sentenced to life without parole, but today, more than 2,000inmates are serving life without parole. The sentences have reserved only for the most hardened criminals, yet most are not hardened criminals. Some teenagers in prison said that they have no concept and there is no reason to live, just look for something.

I think that American’s laws for juveniles should be changed, though it’s very hard to say, because we have the lows to save peace of society. However, as far the Jacob’s case, I think he is not only the murder, but also victim. If people around him would have treated him different way, he wouldn’t have been murder. Killing someone should never be allowed, and if do that, of course it deserves severe punishment, but we should look at not only acting of crime, but also the background of the crime, and I think that in some case of 2,000 inmates, we might use the law in different way.

HOMEWORK!!

SCIENCE

Asteroid is generally used to indicate a diverse group of small celestial bodies in the solar system that orbit around the Sun. 65 million years ago, a rock the size of Mt. Everest hit the earth. That’s the wonder that demise of Dinosaurs. Earth has a long history of getting in the way of asteroid. Asteroid can destroy 80~90% of the species that are on Earth, though it depends on size. Asteroid, the Apophis passes through the earth in 2029, but it’s like predicting a hurricane. If that asteroid passes though the keyhole, 7years later, 2036 will hit the earth. It will pass 10 times closer to us than the moon.

When I watched this program, I felt so scary, because I had never heard about that.
Always I forget that Earth is the one of planets, and someday it does disappear, though it’s hard to imagine. I don’t have much knowledge about solar system that I can’t understand that situation well, but now we have known about Apophis which is going to hit Earth in 2036, so we do need to know more details correctly.

HOMEWORK!!

Pursing the Topic

The interesting topic I found on the Web site is Child Welfare, because I had studied early child education for two years in my country. In the information of Child Welfare,

I read an article about a case of child abuse and caseworker.

In my country, child abuse is getting bigger problem day by day like America. The case I saw was about neglect that means parents stop taking care of their children. I know taking care children is really hard, but I don’t know how hard it is, because I have never had that experience yet, but I think people should not do that by themselves. Seeing growth of child is a big pleasure for parent, but they need a lot of work to do it. I mean they may have much stress. When parents have much stress, if they don’t have any way to ease it, their condition is getting worse I think. Taking care of child being lonely and without any help is one of the reasons that child abuse can happen I guess.

That’s why I really hope that bad case is getting fewer by cooperation and connection between people and people. Also, people who have children already or are having should have chance to know about child welfare more.

Welcome to my blog!

Hi, everyone! How do you do? Please let me introduce myself.
My name is Yamagoshi Kikuyo, and I'm called Kiku. I'm from Japan. "Kiku" is the name of Japanese flower, and it is the chrysanthemum in English. It's hard to remember! I was born in September, and Kiku is a major flower in September, so I was named Kikuyo. My homecity is Nishinomiya where is near to the second big city, Osaka. I got to Seattle one month ago. Now I'm getting homesick...., but I like Seattle as much as my homecity. Many greens and nice climate except many rainy days, and Seattle has many good places to visit.
Before I came here, my hobby was cycling. When I had time, I always went cycling to Muko-river, which is the nearest river from my house. Though I love cycling, I don't have bicycle here! In the soon future, I'm going to get it! Now when I have time, I play badminton with my friends, and it's fun. My most favorite sport is volleyball. I also like reading, but I mean reading is in my own language. Now I 've started to read English book. I hope I can enjoy it as well.
In Japan, I worked as a nursing assistant in the nursery home, and I'm interested in American nursing, but you know,I have to learn English first! I'm going to do my best with you. (^o^)!
Thank you for reading!
